About Me

I was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina.  I went to NC State University where I earned a bachelor’s degree in forest management.  It was at NCSU that I discovered the outdoors.  I enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, hunting and target shooting.  I’ve been fascinated by knives since I was a child but it wasn’t until I went to college that I realized knives are useful in so many ways other than in the kitchen.  After graduation I moved to Rocky Mount, NC and spent almost 7 years as a forester with the NC Forest Service.  Helping NC landowners manage their timberland and putting out wildfires in NC and across the southeast was very rewarding.  I enjoyed my time with the Forest Service, but my real passion in life is making things with my hands.  I have a keen eye for detail and I hope that shows in my work.
